Meet the Optimal Wellness Chiropractic Team

Sarah McDougall

Chiropractic Assistant, Sarah McDougall

I was introduced to the benefits of Chiropractic in 2005 when I began working here at Optimal Wellness Chiropractic.  I enjoy working in a family wellness centre because there is always such a great atmosphere and energy with so many kids in the office.

In my spare time I enjoy training and playing volleyball as well as cycling.  I also enjoy going to circus classes where I get to try things like acrobatics and trapeze.  Having a healthy nerve system is important for me, because it gives me the chance to stay as healthy as possible and be the best that I can be.

Michelle Graham

Chiropractic Assistant, Michelle Graham

Hi, my name is Michelle.  My role as a Chiropractic Assistant is extremely rewarding - basically, I love my job!  Since completing my certificate III in Business Administration for Chiropractic, I have learnt the many benefits of chiropractic, for a complete healthy way of life.

I have 3 gorgeous children - Emily, Nathan and Matthew, and am happily married to Ian.  We as a family get checked Chiropractically regularly and we feel this is a very important part of our health care.

We spend holiday time at our shack in Bonnie Doon with family and friend's water skiing and motor bike riding.

Dr. Nicole Asks some important questions of interest to Mooroolbark residents - Chiropractor Mooroolbark Dr. Nicole Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Mooroolbark chiropractic practice.
